Apache Tears

On the last day of Christmas vacation, Dave, Katte and Chloe went on a hike in the Superior area to look for Apache tears. The legend--perhaps with a Weed twist--is that as the Apaches were driven from the Superstition Mountain range, the tears of the people fell to the ground and turned into black, obsidian-like rocks. It didn't take us long to hit a mother lode of Apache Tears and in a short time the girls had filled their bags.

What a great hike! We will have to check it out one of these days when Patricks back is better.
What a good dad to take these beautiful girls into nature.

What a fun adventure. I can remember my kids going there with field trips from school and collecting their apache tears. I love those stones. Fun time for everyone. PS(where do those striking blue eyes come from???? Mel's little boy has those same eyes!! Absolutely beautiful!)
